Horta refers to the fertile region surrounding Valencia, known as Horta d'Valencia. Renowned for its citrus groves and rice fields first cultivated by the Arabs in the 8th century, this is the birthplace of the celebrated rice dishes—arroces and paella—that have made Valencia famous worldwide.

The finest rice in the Horta comes from Albufera, hometown of our head chef Polo Alemany. The photograph showing men working the rice fields was taken in Albufera in the 1930s. Naturally, our rice comes from Albufera. When it comes to quality, traditions matter.
